Ibsen: the unlikely radical

‘A writer of maudlin period melodramas – or a provocateur whose plays can still surprise and shock?’

As we prepare to transport Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen into the 21st century with a season of international adaptations of his greatest works, we venture into the brooding Norwegian fjords, to discover his early works to his political radicalism to the powerful impact his writing continues to have on theatre makers and audiences today.
