As we prepare for our March residency, we look back at some of the highlights from our Instagrammer in Residence, Ty aka @justanotherdayin to share some of our favourite shots.
Throughout the month, she has been backstage with Blanca Li Company for Robot, been in rehearsal with Robert Henke for his performance Lumière III, and visited The Curve to see the new video installation by Richard Mosse, Incoming.
Incoming (i) | #IgBarbican . Silhouette of a passing artwatcher subsumed into the incredible, thought-provoking video installation by @richard_mosse, with cinematographer @trevortweeten and accompanied by the haunting score of composer Ben Frost @ethermachines. . The Curve, Barbican till 23 April. . #VSCO #ShotOnIPhone7Plus
Robot (i) | #IgBarbican . Behind the scenes yesterday at the @blancalioficial production of 'Robot', an exuberant and witty choreography between humans and machines. On stage, the @maywa_denki mechanical orchestra is being set up in preparation for the opening night's performance @barbicancentre. . #VSCO #ShotOnIPhone7Plus
Lumière III (i) | #IgBarbican . It was such a privilege to go behind the scenes @_studioroberthenke_ soundcheck at the Barbican Hall, during my stint as @barbicancentre 's 'Instagrammer in Residence' this month. For this iteration of Lumière, Robert Henke conceived the visuals for the show prior to composing the tracks – an intriguing departure from how the earlier performances were developed. . #VSCO #ShotOnIPhone7Plus
Lumière III (ii) | #IgBarbican . The beautiful space of the empty Barbican Hall, with the lingering mist of the smoke effects test, during the rehearsal for @_studioroberthenke_ Lumière III. (With thanks also to Jack, the Barbican sound engineer, for giving me a peek into the sound desk. ) . #VSCO #ShotOnIPhone7Plus
